Meet Us

The Bank has been playing to Phoenix crowds for over 30 years. Originally formed in 1983 by co-founders Gary Fendrick and Scott "Scottie" Hetherington (photo, center), The Bank quickly became one of the areas "go-to" bands for great music and entertainment. Playing some of the world's greatest music, with healthy doses of Beatles tunes mixed in, The Bank has enjoyed entertaining thousands of people over the course of its rockin' existence.

Performing their musical repertoire of classic rock, hard rock, country, motown, and more, The Bank has included some of Phoenix's greatest musicians and performers during its history. Let's take a few moments to meet the current lineup!

Gary Fendrick

Gary Fendrick

(Vocals, guitar, keys, percussion)
Founding member, lead vocalist, and band leader Gary Fendrick has been a fixture in the Phoenix music scene for many years. Gary draws from his love of The Beatles, British invasion bands, and Motown greats to flavor his vocal performances. Being a multi-instrumentalist, Fendrick wears many hats within The Bank, covering guitar, keys, and percussion when the material requires it.

Fenderick is the group's master of ceremonies and makes sure that everyone in the crowd has a great time. Always ready with a toast and a wink, he isn't shy about recognizing that the band wouldn't have the staying power that it does without the love and support of his "Bankers", the group's loyal fan base.

Here's to you all, saaaaaaaaaaaaalud!

James Prevallet

James Prevallet

(Vocals, guitar, keys)
For James Prevallet, guitar hero is a lifestyle, not a video game. Prevallet grew up in a musical family so it is no surprise that he's had music running through his veins his entire life, and loving it! Though most of his time is monopolized by rock 'n' roll, his musical history has spanned many and varied genres. Jazz, blues, classical and more have all assisted in forming James musical style and technique.

His guitar idols include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, and when James performs their songs, it's not unusual to do a double-take and for a split-second believe that he is channeling those great masters. Also a multi-instrumentalist, James shares time playing piano/keyboards.

He is also the originator of the drink-special, "Buy the Band a Shot Night".

Lee Kirkham

Lee Kirkham

(Vocals, bass, harmonica)
A lifelong bassist, Lee has a very "meat and potatoes" style of playing that allows his bandmates room to showcase their individual talents while he holds down the bottom-end. But make no mistake, Kirkham is no novice when it comes to ability and flair when the situation calls for something more.

Originating from the San Francisco bay area, Lee came to Arizona in the early 2000's to see what the Phoenix music scene had to offer. After playing in various bands in the Grand Canyon state, he answered a Facebook ad looking for a bass player that could sing and loved The Beatles. This ad was obviously written with him in mind. After meeting with, and auditioning for, Gary and Scottie Hetherington, it was a mutual acknowledgement that he had found a home in The Bank.

Concerning his skills on harmonica, well…he sucks (or is it "he blows"?). Take your pick.

Scott Reid

Scott Reid

(Drums, persussion)
Affectionately known as "The Animal" due to his unbridled ferocity on the drums, Scott began his affinity with percussion at the early age of 8 years old. He, like his bandmate Gary Fendrick, has enjoyed a lengthy career in the local musical performance community. Reid is not easily ignored while sitting behind his drum kit, representing the power behind this powerhouse group.

Enjoying his second tenure with The Bank (he played with the group for several years in the 90's), Scott is also the unofficial fashion guru of the group. His style in both drumming and dressing can be summed up simply: He's in a class all by himself.

Scott Reid plays and endorses Beato brand drums. No really, he does.
